These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the OKAR Trade & Logistics website at www.okartradelog.comand the freight forwarding, customs clearance, sourcing, and logistics services provided by OKAR Trade & Logistics Co., Ltd. (“OKAR”). By accessing this website or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services

OKAR provides freight forwarding, ocean freight, air freight, customs clearance, consolidation, warehousing, road transport, supplier inspection, and related trade services for the China–Djibouti–Ethiopia corridor.

All services are subject to a separate service agreement or quotation accepted by both parties. These Terms apply in addition to any such agreement. In the event of a conflict, the signed service agreement prevails.

2. Quotations and Rates

All quotations provided by OKAR are valid for the period stated in the quotation document. Freight rates are subject to change based on carrier tariffs, fuel surcharges, port congestion fees, and currency fluctuations. Confirmed bookings are subject to the rates agreed at the time of booking confirmation.

3. Client Responsibilities

The client is responsible for:

• Providing accurate and complete shipping information, including cargo descriptions, weight, dimensions, and HS codes
• Ensuring all goods comply with applicable import and export regulations
• Obtaining all necessary licences, permits, and documentation required by Chinese, Djiboutian, and Ethiopian authorities
• Paying all agreed freight charges, duties, taxes, and ancillary fees in a timely manner
• Ensuring goods are adequately packed and labelled for international transport

4. Liability

OKAR acts as an agent on behalf of the client and assumes no liability as a carrier. Our liability as a freight forwarder is limited in accordance with the applicable standard trading conditions and international conventions.

OKAR is not liable for:

• Loss, damage, or delay caused by carriers, port authorities, or customs agencies
• Consequential, indirect, or special losses arising from delays or service failures
• Delays resulting from force majeure events including natural disasters, strikes, port congestion, or government actions
• Inaccurate cargo information provided by the client

5. Cargo Insurance

Cargo insurance is not automatically included in freight quotations unless explicitly stated. We strongly recommend clients arrange appropriate marine cargo insurance for all shipments. OKAR can assist in arranging insurance upon request.

6. Payment Terms

Payment terms are as agreed in the quotation or service agreement. OKAR reserves the right to withhold cargo documentation or release of goods until all outstanding charges are settled. Late payments may incur interest charges as permitted by applicable law.

7. Customs and Regulatory Compliance

OKAR assists with customs clearance procedures in Djibouti and Ethiopia. However, final customs decisions, duties, and taxes are determined by the relevant government authorities. OKAR is not liable for additional charges, holds, or seizures resulting from incorrect declarations or non-compliant goods.

9. Intellectual Property
